Reports to: Program Manager
FSLA: Full Time Salary Exempt
Primary Work Location: Ft. Rucker, AL

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Systems Administrator is responsible for conducting and providing network, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks and data communications equipment.
*This position is contingent upon successful contract award. *
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES


  • Perform the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
  • Perform the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using business systems.
  • Travel required.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


  • ITIL Foundations within 6 months.
  • IAT-II in one of the following (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security +, CND, or SSCP).
  • Secret Clearance
  • A working knowledge is necessary in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.
  • Able to work Overtime as required.
  • Must be available to travel as required.
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned.


Intermediate Level -

  • Associate degree in an IT Related Field or may have additional training and certification in lieu of Associate degree.
  • Requires 4-6 years of related experience.


Senior Level -

  • Bachelor degree in an IT Related Field or may have additional training and certification in lieu of Bachelor degree.
  • Requires 7+ years of related experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE


  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience with Network upgrades and installations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with operational networking strategies and techniques employed in medical facilities.
  • One or more certs may be required:

    • CompTIA Server+
    • Certified Storage: Professional (SCSP)
    • SNIA Certified Storage Engineer (SCSE)
    • SNIA Certified Storage Architect (SCSA)
    • SNIA Certified Storage Architect (SCSA)




PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Bend, squat, climb, and reach.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.
