The role of Radiation Monitoring Technical Lead is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills and make immediate business impact for the Radiation Monitoring Product Line, which serves the following key market segments: Homeland Security, Neutron Scattering Materials Research, Nuclear Safeguards, and Area Radiation Monitoring.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Technical Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for all radiation monitoring applications
  • Being the single point of contact for customers and commercial team as we develop specifications for new radiation monitoring applications, ensuring specifications are complete and achievable
  • Leading collaboration efforts with customers, commercial partners, and government labs/agencies with the goal of establishing best-in-class designs and processes
  • Leading the development of new design practices for radiation monitoring product designs and maintain existing design practices to ensure they reflect any changes to design envelope with associated impact
  • Prioritizing the deck of radiation monitoring instrumentation projects
  • Identifying required resources to execute radiation monitoring tasks
  • Securing required resources from appropriate Engineering Discipline Managers
  • Simultaneously lead 2-4 small technical teams through the execution of technical designs for radiation monitoring applications
  • Spending 15-20% of time performing actual technical design work
  • Being the primary independent design verifier / reviewer for radiation monitoring applications to ensure design output satisfies input
  • Being single technical point of contact for project managers, and other functions.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in radiation monitoring instrumentation design
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally 20% of the time
