Your Role With Us:Lead Ultrasound TechPrimary Functions:The Lead Ultrasound Tech Performs all the job duties of a staff Ultrasound Technologist. Demonstrates knowledge, technical competency and understanding of all patient examinations and associated tasks performed by staff under his/her direction. In addition, the Lead U.S. Tech oversees quality of work produced by technical and ancillary staff, assuring Salem Hospital's and departmental standards of care and conduct are met. Is able to evaluate and educate staff regarding operation of all diagnostic equipment needed to perform Ultrasound procedures. Provides constructive input for employee job performance evaluations. Demonstrates strong equipment trouble shooting skills. Evaluates need to call for emergency service in absence of appropriate management personnel. Effectively manages add-on exam requests. Communicates ongoing equipment, employee and/or process issues with appropriate leadership. Demonstrates professional and problem solving communication skills when interacting with staff, co-workers, physicians and other departments.Plans and implements, in a timely manner, staff work schedules to maximize efficiency and maintain smooth patient flow. . Demonstrates leadership skill by applying Salem Hospital administrative policies consistently. Strives to nurture a "culture of employee engagement". Actively participates in Performance Improvement projects and process resolution. Has a working knowledge of department's budgetary process and goals.
