Planning and Purchasing Clerk

This is a position with Marley Engineered Products LLC.

We have manufacturing operations in Bennettsville, South Carolina along with regional sales representatives located throughout the United States and an administrative office in Burr Ridge, Illinois. SUMMARY

Support planning, purchasing and operations by entering, gathering and distributing information on materials, orders and schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:



  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the Supply Chain and Operations team,
  • Prepares purchase orders and other documents as required
  • Follows up with purchases to make sure what is purchased arrives on schedule and at the correct destination
  • Support and create labels for production and shipping.
  • Provide support of shop packets for coordinators and associates. Close or cancel shop packets.
  • Release and distribute to stores documents to have material pulled.
  • Distribute stock out and shortage information as needed. Review shortage reports to make sure parts that are available.
  • Verifies released orders of scheduled equipment to maintain accuracy of schedule.
  • Supports planning with schedule change, communication and verification
  • Support MRP and BOM requests as needed.
  • Key in finished goods and documents after parts are pulled or produced
  • Provide support to Service Parts processes
  • Review critical orders for status and identification of issues
  • Issue supplemental documents for parts as needed.



Qualifications Include:



  • Must have Strong PC skills Computer literate with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Should possess strong math skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must show demonstrated teamwork abilities and be comfortable interacting on the floor, and have a strong sense of urgency in completion of assignments.
  • Must have good work record with proven performance and strong attendance record.
  • Must be persistent in follow-up and documentation.
  • Previous parts and equipment inventory and ordering experience in heavy industry/manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred experience ERP processes (JDE or MAPICS)
  • Ability to understand technical descriptions, specifications and procedures
  • HS diploma or equivalent a must. Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in Planning and purchasing processes is required
