Description

Job Purpose:

To serve Guest in a prompt and responsible manner

Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of state liquor laws
  • Knowledge of drinks and proper glassware
  • Able to work in a fast and friendly manor
  • Attends all trainings classes
  • Obtains a 90% or better score on final exam.
  • Must have flexible schedule.



License Requirements:



  • STOP, Serve Safe or TIPS Certification
  • Department of Business Regulations


Essential Job Functions:



  • Report to work at the assigned time in uniform, with name tag, state badge and
  • POS card.
  • Read Bulletin Board on Daily Basis in order to remain current on information regarding the day's business.
  • Does a Daily Opening and Closing Inventory of Beverage products.
  • Welcomes guest upon arrival in a polite and professional manner.
  • Knows how to properly check Guest ID's for serving of all alcoholic beverages.
  • Prepare and garnish beverages according to standard recipe.
  • Have full knowledge of the event beverage menu selection.
  • Suggestively sells beverages at all times.
  • Documents all orders on P.O.S Computer, and place guest check in front of all guests.
  • Maintain a clean working station.
  • Must make sure that all equipment is clean and functional.
  • Take beverage orders in a calm, organized, polite and professional manner.
  • Handle complaints calmly and to the best of your ability.
  • Restocking of location with cases of beer and beverage, & food products.


  • Be responsible for cleaning your assigned work area, completing all side work.
  • Know how to properly ring in all beverage items and how to close all types of checks.
  • Relay any problem situations to the manager or supervisor for immediate action.
  • Be responsible for your bank, cash counting, reports and reporting your tips.
  • Signing and cashing of your pay check indicates you agree with your hours and have
  • Reported all your tips.
  • All members of the Beverage Dept. are expected to be a team player and hold the team concept.
  • Attend all Beverage Meetings.
  • Any other duties assigned by your supervision.


Physical/Mental Requirements:



  • Ability to continuously stand and maneuver in confined area.
  • Constantly respond to visual and oral signals.
  • Ability to frequently push or pull 100 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently lift 100 lbs.
  • Ability to continually stand or walk.
  • Frequent flexibility to reach above head and below knees, bend at knees or waist and twist.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold environment.
  • Physical dexterity to stock products, lift boxes and kegs of beer, clean and wipe bar. Handle a knife to cut fruit.
  • Lift ice buckets.
  • Ability to tolerate area's containing secondary smoke.
  • Able to use good sense of judgment in serving of alcohol
  • Constantly provide World Class Guest Service


Working Conditions:



  • Fast pace service bar, guest service oriented with a noisy environment.



*Bartender essential functions apply to all bartender positions held in the casino, (VIP, Blackstone, Shipyard etc.)
