Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemical Engineering

General Summary of Position:

Dr. Hsi-Wu Wong's Lab at the University of Massachusetts Lowell has an immediate opening of a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with experience in experimental catalysis and reaction engineering.

The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with a possibility of renewal for a second year based on the performance and the availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education:



  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
  • A highly motivated individual with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • The candidate has to be a good team player working in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
  • Experience in analytical skills (e.g., gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, electronic microscopy) is required
  • Experience in catalyst synthesis and characterization is required
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction, as well as in a multi-disciplinary team environment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in solid analysis instruments (e.g., XRD, XPS, Raman, ICP-MS) is a plus


Additional Considerations:



  • Ability to work independently, with limited direction, as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to mentor and inspire students with limited research experience
