Overview

Provides ground transportation services for freight and COMAT movement to and from our Gateways. Establishes scheduled ground transportation networks for Marketing and Sales to assist in securing beyond gateway customers.



Responsibilities

    Monitor and manage existing Road feeder network for cost effectiveness and service.
  • Work with Road feeder vendors to ensure pre-determined service levels are maintained.
  • Review with area station management and staff to ensure all Polar beyond trucking needs are being met
  • Check and approve all trucking vendor invoicing for accuracy prior to submission for payment.
  • Investigate new trucking vendors as possible additions to the Polar Road Feeder Network
  • Investigate new Lane segments for Sales and Marketing.
  • Work with the Director to negotiate rates on behalf of Polar Air Cargo for all trucking service needed with our scheduled service product
  • Work with Director to negotiate service level agreements on behalf of Polar Air Cargo for incorporation into Vendor contracts
  • Work with area Polar staff in new Gateways to design and implement Road feeder networks as Polar expands their gateway network.
  • Liaise between trucking companies and Customer, Claims staff and area Polar staff to correct any service or cost issues.
  • Regularly review and monitor local station procedures with Polar staff and vendors to ensure compliance with Polar requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of Rules, Regulations and restrictions regarding road carriage of freight in all applicable regions.

  • Ability to travel as needed
