Job Overview

Advantest America, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking a highly experienced, test technology knowledgeable, self-driven and creative semiconductor testing professional to be part of the US ART (Applied Research Team). The US ART is part of a global strategic effort to integrate our test and measurement solutions across the entire semiconductor value chain using cloud, AI, and data analytics technologies. A key component of Advantest's and US ART's commitment to increasing customer value is providing innovative integrated workflow solutions across the semiconductor value chain.

As Lead Application Engineer for US ART, the successful candidate will provide technical leadership on the development and support of V93000 Semiconductor Test System applications for Advantest customers, with a focus on integrated workflow solutions that span multiple steps of the semiconductor value chain. The ideal candidate will have significant technical leadership experience working with semiconductor test equipment, including previous experience as an Applications Engineer or Test Development Engineer. Success metrics will development of leading-edge integrated workflow solutions that meet our customers' requirements.

The home location for this position will be at our Advantest America headquarters in San Jose, CA. Other Advantest America locations including Austin, TX, San Diego, CA, and Lake Forest, CA will be considered if the candidate is flexible to travel ~25% time.

Responsibilities



  • Provide hands-on test program development support for SOC Applications on ATE systems.
  • Focuses during the customer engagement process range from: requirements analysis, feature demonstrations, benchmarks, competitive positioning, and implementation/execution.
  • Ensures the applications function per requirements and specifications.
  • Integrates Advantest products and services (at the system/solutions level) into customer's environment.
  • Perform analysis of complex IC manufacturer customer requirements providing expertise on topics such as: Performance, Design, Utilization, Optimization, test program development/conversions and Implementation Strategies.
  • Work with internal and external experts on the integration of advanced data analytics, Machine-Learning-based algorithms, and cloud technology into integrated workflow solutions.
  • Accountable for the design, scoping, and technical validity of the solution to achieve the customer's business objectives.
  • Identifies Advantest and Non-Advantest resources required to deliver customer solutions and tracks and manages the committed deliverables.
  • Keeps global technical peers informed of new and emerging technologies and information in their business segment.
  • Through expertise-based value creation, candidate becomes integral to the customer's business processes and establishes influence on the customer's decision process and business outcomes.
  • Create project plans for complex projects and track project completion.
  • Represents customer's needs of their assigned business segment to field and factory.
  • Technologies range from digital and high-speed SoC technologies.
  • Create and deliver customer training classes and consultation materials.
  • As engineering team grows, serve as technical lead and mentor new engineers.
