Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) has a unique opportunity for a Director of Bronchoscopy. We are looking for a full-time BC/BE trained Pulmonary/Critical Care physician who will design and create a robust Bronchoscopy program. The successful applicant would become a member of a team of exceptionally well-trained and highly collaborative Board-Certified Critical Care and Pulmonary/Critical care trained physicians in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Divisions.

GBMC is an outstanding independent community academic health system in Towson, Maryland, just outside Baltimore providing care to a diverse population of 1.1 million. We have the largest comprehensive community cancer program in the Baltimore region. We are in the midst of a capital project creating a new home for our growing, multidisciplinary, nationally recognized cancer center. The center manages a large number of clinical trials - NIH and Industry sponsored - allowing for opportunities to participate in all types of research. In addition, there is a recently renovated endoscopy suite with a room specifically designed for bronchoscopy.

GBMC provides care to patients over the entire continuum of life. Our vision is to provide the care to patients that we would want for our own loved ones and achieve that vision through our mission, which includes training the next generation of clinicians. We have robust medical education infrastructure, which includes an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency, affiliation agreements with the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins allowing seamless rotations for our residents and medical students from both institutions; residencies in other specialties; a state-of-the-art simulation center; a well-resourced medical library; and our own peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed, medical journal (JCHIMP), a rare find among hospitals in the US. Our core competence, Redesigning Care, drives a strong culture of quality improvement that uses the IHI, PDSA and Lean frameworks. In 2021, we have national recognition with the Malcolm Baldridge Award for Performance excellence.

In addition to leading the Bronchoscopy Section, interested candidates would attend in the Critical Care unit and Pulmonary practice, and supervise and teach residents. We will prepare a package that allows you to achieve your personal and professional goals.

Also enjoy:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Support from experienced staff
  • Being part of an esteemed hospital and group
  • Living and working in the Mid-Atlantic region with its rich history and culture, abundance of outdoor activities, and adjacency to the major East Coast cities
