If you are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related degrees, and a looking for internship opportunities to work on challenging technical problems, we would love to have you join our team. Our group works on some of the most difficult and influential problems in the Department of Defense (DoD) - how to defend our military and homeland through deep knowledge of the foreign threat as well as the subject matter expertise and curiosity to figure out how to defeat them through High Power Microwave (HPM), High Energy Laser (HEL), Electronic Warfare (EW), and more.

We are seeking highly motivated students to help us understand and develop models and simulations for adversary missile systems, as well as for US non-kinetic technology. You will be joining a hardworking team of engineers and scientists who are subject matter experts in this area, and develop, test, and analyze various advanced technologies for missile defense. This team also provides insights to the Air and Missile Defense Sector about adversary weapons as we develop innovative defenses to defend the US homeland, allies, and troops overseas.

Your primary responsibilities could include:

  • Develop and use models and simulations of adversary systems, characterizing their performance
  • Understand foreign missile systems to the level that you can help design, develop, test, and evaluate defeat mechanisms for those threats
  • Analyzing system level performance against threat missile systems, including developing novel concepts for the employment of these capabilities
  • Develop and test High Power Microwave weapons to defend against threat missile systems


You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related degrees, with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Have experience with programming language such as MATLAB, Python, C, C++, Java, or similar
  • Have good analytical skills
  • Can effectively communicate ideas and results
  • Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Are skilled in and/or have knowledge of one or more of: flight mechanics, propulsion, Guidance Navigation and Control, or physics based modeling
  • Are skilled in and/or have knowledge of one or more of: RF board design, antenna design, RF propagation, RF system design, RF testing, and HPM system design
  • Have a final Secret security clearance
