Job Description:

The Regional Distribution Center Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective functioning of the distribution center's operations in a union environment. This includes managing inbound and outbound logistics, assembly processes, e-commerce operations, inventory management, quality control, third-party relationships, internal inventory transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role demands exceptional attention to detail in policy adherence, processes, safety protocols, leading people, fostering associate engagement, and cultivating a positive organizational culture.

This person will be a key leader within the regional fulfillment & operations team and will report up to the Director, Fulfillment & Operations. This position will be responsible for managing and leading a team to execute the responsibilities as noted above.

This position will reside in Fontana, CA which is the location of our service center.

Total Base Pay Range: 87,957.51 - 131,936.26 DOE (Annual)

Key Accountabilities Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a team of unionized employees to achieve performance targets.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with union contracts and labor laws, including managing grievances and negotiations.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and Finance, to achieve company goals.

Inbound and Outbound Logistics:
  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods.

  • Coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

  • Optimize transportation and distribution processes to enhance efficiency.

Inventory Control & Quality Assurance:
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies.

  • Conduct regular audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.

Assembly Processes:
  • Supervise and improve assembly operations within the distribution center.

  • Implement strategies to enhance productivity and quality in assembly tasks.

E-commerce Operations:
  • Manage e-commerce fulfillment processes, including order processing and shipping.

  • Collaborate with the e-commerce team to ensure seamless online order fulfillment.

Internal Inventory Transfers:
  • Facilitate internal inventory transfers between different locations or departments.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of internal movements.

Policy Adherence:
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Uphold safety and compliance standards.

People Leadership:
  • Lead and inspire a team of distribution center staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to team members to enhance performance and skill development.

  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet operational demands.

Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the distribution center.

  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety among team members.

  • Investigate and address any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

Culture Building:
  • Cultivate a positive organizational culture.

  • Encourage teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

  • Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management in a unionized environment.

  • Proven experience in distribution center management, with a focus on inbound and outbound logistics.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse automation technologies.

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
