Medical Assistant (MA) / Nuclear Medicine

Oklahoma Heart Institute is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Medical Assistant (MA) will report directly to the unit supervisor and will be responsible for vitals, transport, basic triage, and should be able to assist in minor procedures.


Responsibilities

Want to make a difference? The ideal team member will:

  • Escort patients to exam room and prepares patients for exams/treatments. Takes patients histories, vitals, and reviews medication/allergy lists.
  • Perform EKG's and properly hooks up to event monitors, holter monitors, and treadmills.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Dysrhythmias and events which can adversely affect the patient during stress testing.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials and documents daily.
  • Stocks rooms with appropriate forms, lab requisitions, medication sheets, SBE cards.
  • Transports patients to and from imaging department.
  • Assists during nuclear stress testing procedure unders supervision of physcian.
  • Faxes MRI/MRA reports and nuclear reports during down time.
  • Assists in preparing charts, making copies, and pulls information from GEMMS when needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current CMA, RMA or ABR certification PREFERRED
  • BLS Certification
