Where you will work
The Cypress Bend facility is located in the historic Mississippi River Delta and produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp, used in the production of folding cartons, commercial print paperboard, carded packaging, and cup stock. This facility boasts over 300 talented employees and stretches across 730 acres. Clearwater Paper employees are proud to manufacture a high-quality product for an essential industry.

Cypress Bend is a rural community with close access to the Mississippi River. What you will do
We are seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer. The Electrical Reliability Engineer is critical to the success of the Clearwater paper business and holds a variety of technical responsibilities for our mill locations. This role also manages assigned projects from concept through start-up, supplying continuous in-plant support to normal mill maintenance and eliminates equipment reliability issues.

Reliability



  • Develops, coordinates, and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts.
  • Investigates and analyses relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • Analyses preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives.
  • As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.


Project and Operations Support



  • Provides technical assistance to production, reliability, and quality groups as needed to solve equipment and process-related problems and develops methods to improve processes.
  • Works with production and other reliability personnel to develop detailed project scopes.
  • Manage all phases of assigned projects including:

    • Evaluation and selection of equipment suppliers and installation contractors.
    • Maintenance of all drawings of both existing and new equipment.
    • Supervision of installation and/or repair of equipment.


  • Optimize manufacturing processes by investigating and eliminating root causes of equipment failures.


Maintenance and Operational Assistance



  • Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot equipment and/or operating problems.
  • Research options and recommend solutions to resolve operating and/or maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate contractor's activities for contracted-out maintenance work during equipment downtimes.
  • Provide engineering calculations and design drawings for equipment installed by maintenance crews.
  • Perform maintenance call duty. Call out and supervise maintenance crews as required.
  • Communicate environmental/safety issues to management as required.


Leadership



  • Assist in the management of the Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs including vibration coverage through the mill, plant tank integrity, pressure vessel integrity, and pre-post failure reports.
  • Manages capital projects as required.
  • Facilitate Reliability Steering Teams

What you will need
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electrical Engineering Technology Engineering required.
  • Minimum three (5) years of project and reliability engineering experience (required)
  • Maintenance experience (strongly preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with vendors, managers, and production employees to achieve goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of managing Process Safety Management programs.
  • Familiar with and have a good working knowledge of construction and repair codes NFPA-70 NEC etc.)
  • Knowledgeable with maintenance best practices (Infrared, trip relay testing, transformer testing, transformer oil analysis, doble test, etc.) troubleshooting complex industrial systems and equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of relay and Ladder Logic.
  • Understanding of LEAN manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) concepts preferred
  • Basic knowledge of corrosion effects and metallurgy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centered-Maintenance.
  • Full Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • High-speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high-frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
  • Dirt, noise, odor, & temperature extremes.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process


Total Reward Details

We're committed to providing an exceptional workplace experience, including a comprehensive total reward package. This position is eligible for our Incentive Plan. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
