Position Summary

The History program at Allan Hancock College is seeking for a part-time instructor to teach Ethnic Studies/History 121 - African American History at the Santa Maria campus on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:50 am or Lompoc Valley Center campus on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:20 pm for the fall 2024 semester. Future classes may be taught at the Santa Maria campus or the Lompoc Valley Center, and could be a day or evening classes.

Please note that this is not a remote position.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

* Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
* Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
* Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
* Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
* Teach all scheduled classes.
* Maintain accurate records.
* Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Ethnic Studies
Master's degree in Race and Ethnic Relations
Master's degree in African American Studies
Master's degree in History with and emphasis in African-American History

Lecture Rate: $60.77to $86.44per hour depending upon education and experience

Lab Rate: $52.96 to $75.26 per hour depending upon education and experience

Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour depending upon education and experience
