Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,681 - $3,865 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
  • Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

The position provides complex and/or specialized technical library duties to support daily administrative functions related to events, accounting and/or budgetary activities. The incumbent in this position coordinates room bookings, event budgets and logistics, processes requisitions, purchase orders, payment of invoices for library purchases and processes a large student assistant payroll. The incumbent is expected to work independently and as part of the library acquisitions team and with the library budget analyst.

Key Qualifications
  • Skill with event planning and organizing event logistics.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn variety of software systems for professional use.
  • Able to develop full proficiency in the use of ALMA, ALMA analytics, and Data Warehouse pertaining to invoice processing, budget allocations and fund reporting.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of payment procedures in accordance with the campus accounting department.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret library policies and procedures and an in-depth knowledge of library operations.
  • Ability to:
    • Apply accounting procedures and practices to the analysis of basic accounting problems; analyze and interpret accounting data.
    • Perform detailed work with great accuracy and proficiency.
    • Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
    • Accurately enter, review, correct, analyze, and interpret financial data.
    • Work within a diverse environment and be service-oriented in working with other library staff and faculty members, student assistants and other campus personnel.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the library.
    • Investigate and research more complex problems, including analyzing and interpreting information.
    • Apply problem solving techniques in finding solutions to basic accounting problems.
  • A history of regular attendance and positive performance evaluations.

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.
  • Three years of related office work experience.
    • Preferred Skills:
      • Three years of financial record-keeping experience.
      • Three years of experience in event planning or management.
      • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Ex Libris's Alma, Mocha/Rumba, Quickbooks.
