Job Description

Smith College is actively seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our Dining Services team on a temporary basis. As part of this team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests. These positions offer ideal short-term employment opportunities in the vibrant hospitality industry.

Available Positions:

Catering Dining Room Coordinator - Starting at $21.98 per hour

Responsibilities include prepping, delivering, and setting up functions, as well as serving lunches, dinners, receptions, and breaks.

Catering Bartender - Starting at $19.95 per hour

Specialize in preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at events. Manage bar setup, breakdown, and inventory. Must be ServSafe Alcohol certified.

Catering Kitchen Assistant - Starting at $23.00 per hour

Support catering operations through food production and prep work for seamless events.

Catering Cook - Starting at $24.94 per hour

Contribute to catering operations through culinary expertise.

Cook's Assistant - Starting at $24.21 per hour ( 2 positions longer 40 hours for 4-6 weeks)

Support culinary staff with preparation, cooking, and presentation of various menu items, ensuring adherence to dining service standards.

Requirements:

  • High school or vocational school education completion.

  • Previous experience in food service or a related role.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work locations.

  • Availability for extended shifts.

  • Ability to safely lift and move 50 pounds.

  • Valid Massachusetts Class III driver's license and compliance with all college driving credentialing requirements.

Preferred:

  • 1 year of experience in a high-volume, scratch operation.

  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to achieve within (6) months of employment.

  • Allergen Awareness as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
