We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Pharmacy Medication Reconciliation Technician to join our team!


Responsibilities

What You'll Do

The Pharmacy Medication Reconciliation Technician will be responsible for performing many of the technical duties of the pharmacist under the direction of the pharmacist and subject to verification in accordance with state and federal law. The Medication Reconciliation Technician will perform medication history reconciliation upon patient hospital admission. The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Interviewing patients and patient support network, researching EMR systems and contacting other resources to collect the most comprehensive and accurate patient home medication list as part of the admissions process.
  • Must validate patient allergies and medication doses, dosage forms, and appropriate frequency of administration to improve safety and quality of of our patients by providing physicians with a comprehensive home medication list of which they can make clinical assessments and prescribe medications to patients.
  • Performs computer order entry, billing, word processing
  • Control drug accountability including controlled substances and hazardous waste
  • Inventory management including automated drug distribution, barcoding, packaging and outdates
  • Sterile products preparation and daily IV systems management
  • Productivity and workflow management

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Registration in good standing with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy and proof of being a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • Computer skills
  • Experience in retail pharmacy setting or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and metrics system.
  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in Sterile Products Preparation
  • Knowledge of automated drug distribution systems and nomenclature
