Overview

Leadership opportunity alert! We are looking for a Director, Software DevOps to join our ever-growing team here at Shure. If you are an experienced people leader with a deep technical understanding of Software DevOps - we want to hear from you.

In your role as Director, Software DevOps, you will oversee all aspects of Software DevOps to support Mobile Apps, Desktop Apps, Cloud Apps, Middleware and Firmware Development and Deployment to enable and deliver Technology, Hardware and Software Roadmaps. You will effectively lead and develop the Global Software DevOps team to build, evolve and maintain a world class Software Engineering Environment. Additionally, you will optimize organizational throughput processes and tools for stability, reliability and efficiency while relentlessly improving software development processes and procedures.

This position is hybrid and based in our Niles, IL location.



Responsibilities

    Leads, grows, and develops the Global Software DevOps Team.
  • Defines, executes, and delivers Software DevOps capabilities that accelerate delivery of the Company's Technology, Hardware, Software and Security Roadmaps.
  • Optimizes organizational workflows by delivering a robust and reliable system that supports Continuous Integration, Continuous Test and Continuous Deployment (Release on Demand).
  • Keeps current on technology advances to build, evolve, and maintain a world class Software Engineering Environment.
  • Works proactively to increase quality/security standards and drives execution of the Software DevOps Roadmap.
  • Provides thought-leadership working with senior and executive management on matters concerning short and long terms plans for delivering new solutions and improving engineering efficiency.
  • Works collaboratively across organizations with key stakeholders and internal work partners to assure that work is planned and executed to meet and exceed our goals; identifies issues and course corrects as required; establishes a culture of relentless improvement and accountability.
  • Ensures the compliance of corporate policies and procedures within the functional area.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably software engineering.
  • M.S. or Ph. D. in Computer Science is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 12 years of increasing global team management responsibility.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Software DevOps implementation that supports Continuous Integration, Continuous Test and Continuous Deployment to enable delivery of Technology, Hardware, Software and Security Roadmaps. Minimum 5 years of global team management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AWS Cloud, Atlassian Software Tool Suites and JFrog (artifactory, Xray, Conan) Tool Suites.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with k8s and containerization.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of ephemeral builds, continuous deployment and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development is required and experience with SAFe is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to root cause and resolve complex system level issues.
  • Effectively communicates and demonstrates interpersonal skills to create cross functional team missions and create execution plans to achieve common goals.
  • Effective interaction with executive-level associates related to project progress, risk mitigation and forward-looking technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expenses across multiple priorities along with recommending and implementing change.
