About the Mission You Will Join:

VMD has an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Senior Cyber Security Specialist. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with Air Force Cyber Security Experts to help define the direction of the Air Force Cyber moving forward.

Your Impact to the Mission:

VMD seeks a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to provide subject matter expertise, technology analysis, compliance evaluation, and policy expertise to the Air Force as it relates to cross domain solutions (data loss prevention), cloud implementation, and long-haul communications. Participate in creating rulings for the highest-level accreditation body for the DoD/IC. Provide support to cloud transition initiatives and other cybersecurity matters. Facilitate Air Force operations to achieve the level of cybersecurity rigor required to be allowed to connect non-NIPR systems to the commercial Internet. Facilitate USAF stakeholder SIPR/NIPR connectivity procedures.

Experience Needed to Be Successful:

  • Minimum of 7 years related experience.
  • Experience performing Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization, system hardening, awareness training and project management.
  • Experience supporting DoD Cyber policy, technology, and security tools.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous MAJCOM & Air Staff Action Officer (AO) experience

Basic Qualifiers:

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Cyber Security
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree?Yes
  • Required Certification(s):DoD 8570
  • Desired Certification(s):Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), (ISC)2, or Security+
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience:7
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field:7
  • Minimum Clearance to Start:Top Secret
  • Work Status Allowable:US Citizenship

Travel and Telecommuting:
