Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,373.33 to $5,666.67 per month

This is a full-time, exempt position. Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director (AD) for Capital Projects & Facilities, the incumbent will be responsible for administrating and assisting with all varsity event operations of the Athletic Department, and for all special events and rentals taking place in athletic facilities.

Key Qualifications
  • Strong supervisory skills - and ability to hire, train, coordinate, schedule, promote, terminate subordinates
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, customer service oriented.
  • Possession of good interpersonal skills, professional tact, and the ability to interpret complex concepts and effectively communicate them to educate others
  • Knowledge of Mountain West and NCAA competition guidelines related to game management, especially those governing recruitment, player eligibility and related functions for sport supervision.
  • Ability and experience in negotiating with individuals and organizations for the hosting of major events.
  • Ability to:
    • React effectively and quickly to crises and maintain a professional demeanor
    • Work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude in stressful situations
    • To work with minimal supervision
    • Establish and maintain good relationships with coaches, staff, and administration
    • Apply good judgment, discretion and initiative in performing duties
    • Prioritize assignments with conflicting deadlines
    • Support the equity and diversity commitments of the department
    • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year institution
  • Three (3) years' experience in athletics administration
  • Experience with staffing and organization for large events
  • Experience in event and facilities scheduling
  • Experience working closely with coaches, directors and other administrators.
  • Experience with the administration of facilities and event operations in multiple venues and large crowd capacities; including safety/security, traffic control principles, crowd control and the safe and efficient movement of large crowds into and out of the venue.
