SUMMARY

This position greets and directs visitors courteously, answers telephone calls from clients, child care providers and community members and completes other administrative tasks as a receptionist for the Early Learning Resource Center.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receptionist duties - greet and direct visitors courteously and knowledgeably;
  • Telephones - monitor, control, screen and direct incoming calls depending on their nature; respond to basic requests from public;
  • Receive, sort, date stamp and distribute incoming mail from the USPS;
  • Assist with scanning of incoming documents received via mail and fax;
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence and documents to staff;
  • Occasionally perform receptionist duties for the Health and Human Services Department Community Engagement Suite;
  • Miscellaneous other related duties as requested and assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Receptionist preferred;
  • Will be required to take and pass clerical skills tests;
  • Excellent inter-personal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent telephone and interviewing skills;
  • Must be organized and detail oriented;
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of specific software packages and search engines;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks;
  • Ability to adapt to new responsibilities;
  • Must consistently maintain a professional demeanor while working with the general public;
  • Ability to keep information confidential when working with staff, clients and providers;
  • Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English)
