Position Type: Community Education/Recreation Instructor Date Posted: 1/4/2024 Location: Minnetonka Community Education Center (MCEC) Assignment: 16 hour per week Monday-Thursday (Friday if rain date needed) 6/10/24-8/30/24 Minnetonka Middle School East Wages: starting at $22/hour Primary Objective of Positions: Provide instruction in several levels of tennis, from beginner to advanced, for children ages 3-14, as well as a youth league. Ensure a safe and fun experience for all participants. Job Responsibilities: Teach USTA tennis curriculum and assist in developing goals for all levels. Instruct classes, supervise participants, and manage class environment. Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities consistent with class goals. Provide a safe, caring, fun environment for children. Establish a positive and friendly relationship with parents. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Teach private lessons when available. Job Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Evidence of extensive knowledge of and experience playing tennis. Prior experience in tennis instruction preferred. Evidence of successful teaching and/or program leadership. First Aid & CPR certified - certification training available once hired. Passion for working with children. Evidence of positive interpersonal skills; ability to relate well to children and adults. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Proven record of punctuality and responsibility.
