About This Role:



The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire an Office Specialist II to provide specialized administrative support to a grant-funded, statewide professional development project in the area of childcare and education that focuses on individuals and programs serving children aged birth to thirteen years. This position will be responsible for managing customer communications and will serve as the lead for customer service interactions related to KCCTO services. This position will report to KCCTO's Outreach and Engagement Program Coordinator.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Answer incoming phone calls and monitor emails
  • Connect customers with their course instructors, as needed
  • Assist with various course processes, which may include processing requests for transfers, transcripts, and certificates
  • Assist with course registration, enrollments, and completions
  • Manage training rosters
  • Assist with materials inventory
  • Handle logistical arrangements for in-person trainings and events
  • Direct work of student office assistant/s
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need to Succeed:



Minimum Requirements:



  • One year of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree from an accredited college
  • Two years of experience working in an office setting that requires professionalism, teamwork, and confidentiality
  • Two years of experience managing multiple tasks or projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Five years of experience working in a non-profit, multi-project, or technology-based program
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Basic knowledge of early childhood and the childcare system, along with available resources
  • Experience directing the work of coworkers
  • Direct experience with childcare programs and the children and families they serve
