Landscape Maintenance - Seasonal

In Fort Wayne, we have our own Landscape Department that maintains our 27 Group Homes and facilities throughout the city. We are looking for a full-time and temporary seasonal associate to join our team. Experience in mowing, snow removal and landscaping are a plus, but we are willing to train you.

Seasonal April - November at $15

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with maintenance for Benchmark Human Services-owned properties as directed by landscape manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
• Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
• Shovel snow from walkways and apply snow melting product.
• Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
• Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
• Report to work as scheduled.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Must have ability to perform physical work required.
• Must be able to tolerate heat and cold conditions

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Indiana driver's license.
• Experience in landscape maintenance preferred.
• Must Have high school diploma/GED
