Finance Manager

Meritage is looking for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for the day to day finance operations for our Utah division. This person will prepare and analyze financial reporting packages in key business areas. Prepare and provide support in land acquisition feasibility/underwriting, annual planning, quarterly forecasting, historical cost and budget analysis, and expense performance comparisons.

In this role you will:

• Prepare/review annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts
• Assist in land acquisition feasibility/underwriting Land Acquisition Team
• Prepare supplementary reports and analyses for management.
• Update divisional key indicator reports.
• Review weekly Gross Margin Backlog Reports
• Assist with pricing updates, lot releases, MLS updates.
• Prepare monthly lot takedown reports.
• Assist with quarterly corporate reporting.
• Prepare monthly Proforma updates and provide written variance explanations.
• Coordinate monthly budget meetings with other departments.
• Coordinate with Sales team the escrow and closing process.
• Other duties as assigned.

• BA in Accounting or Finance;
• At least 3 years of finance experience
• Advanced computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Windows Office applications, high-level Excel user
• Ability to generate spreadsheet models efficiently and perform scenario analysis
• Hands-on experience with budgeting/forecasting software; SAP/Business Objects experience preferred
• Strong written/oral and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels in the organization, with a customer service focus
• Ability to write and communicate complex information and procedures in an easily comprehensible manner
• Frequent interaction with other departments and divisions, as well as internal and external auditors
