Job Overview
Avnet is looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst to join our Americas accounting team. This critical role focuses on China Tariff reconciliations and certain revenue recognition transactions and involves detailed transactional research in SAP. You'll ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies, supporting various accounting tasks for Avnet's North American entities. It's an opportunity to play a significant role in a dynamic environment within a global organization.

Job Duties
*
Learn and actively engage in recording, processing, and analyzing China Tariff and certain revenue transactions, ensuring accurate financial representation.
* Conduct thorough transactional research within SAP, identifying and rectifying discrepancies and errors to ensure data accuracy.
* Utilize system applications to organize, manipulate, and analyze data for the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations related to transactions.
* Assist in various accounting tasks for Avnet's North American entities, contributing to financial reporting, analysis, and month-end close procedures.
* Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure timely and precise accounting information, fostering seamless cross-departmental communication.
* Partner with business areas to understand and resolve operational accounting issues, leveraging expertise to streamline processes.
* Prepare and record journal entries and account reconciliations
* Actively assess opportunities for process enhancements within accounting procedures, contributing valuable insights for improvements.
* Proactively engage in key month-end closing activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient process aligned with organizational goals

Job Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years working in SAP systems is mandatory
* While an accounting degree is recommended, it's not required. However, candidates should possess experience in reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
* Intermediate skills in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and formulas.
* Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to solve problems effectively.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
