POSITION SUMMARY

The IP Docket Clerk will generate, monitor, and verify global patent, trademark and Domain deadlines, and maintain a fluid prosecution and domain name database in a high-energy, fast-paced work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately docket USPTO, Client, foreign associate, or Domain vendor- correspondence in docketing system according to established procedures.
  • Generate and monitor daily docket of deadlines and ensure that deadlines are met and system is properly updated.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and deadline calculations for incoming prosecution and related intellectual property correspondence received from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, international intellectual property offices, and foreign law firms.
  • Docket all outgoing correspondence which may require direct communication with business partners, intellectual property vendors, and foreign law firms.
  • Provide assistance with overflow docketing and/or coverage as assigned by the Trademark Docket Supervisor.
  • Respond to inquiries; generate reports and queries as needed for attorneys, paralegals, and case teams.
  • Research cases at the USPTO or other PTOs around the world.
  • Assist with various docketing projects as assigned by the Trademark Docket Supervisor.
  • Save correspondence in document management system to maintain electronic files associated with all IP docket matters.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Must be listed on resume to be considered):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • General PC skills in Word, Outlook, Excel

COMPETENCIES

  • Prior Docket experience a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment and contribute to the team's overall success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to communicate and work with a diverse group of attorneys and staff via telephone, Teams, and in person.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and organization in all aspects of the position.
  • Work occasionally requires more than normally scheduled work hours to perform the essential duties of the position.

New York based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $73,000- $85,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, yearly retirement plan contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Bay Area based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $77,000- $90,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, yearly retirement plan contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package.
