General Information

Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts seeks a seasoned filmmaker and educator to enrich our faculty. The ideal candidate will bring professional experience, academic knowledge, and a passion for nurturing the next generation of filmmakers. This position begins August 1, 2024.

Responsibilities



  • Faculty duties include teaching, academic advising, and service to Dodge College and Chapman University.
  • The teaching load is 24 credits per academic year.
  • Faculty are expected to be committed to teaching full-time, as well as continuing his or her own professional work and/or research and scholarship.


Qualifications

Required



  • Graduate or terminal degree (Master of Fine Arts, PhD) or equivalent professional experience in audio design, including sound recording, editing and re-recording mixing on narrative feature films, television, documentaries, and computer games.
  • Experienced teaching advanced courses in sound editing and design as well as industry-standard post-production workflow, including Pro Tools and surround sound mixing.


Preferred



  • Knowledge of Dolby Atmos, spatial audio applications and production sound mixing are a plus.
