General Summary of Position: The Verification Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the financial aid application verification process. S/he acts as a subject matter expert on federal and institutional financial aid policies and procedures and consistently applies eligibility requirements to all students to ensure proper approval of funds. The Verification Specialist performs a variety of duties necessary to support the delivery of financial aid to students including communicating with students and parents regarding the verification process and other eligibility issues as well as using knowledge of financial aid compliance to make independent decisions that result in accurate awards. The Verification Specialist will process paper financial aid documents into the Document Imaging system and provide support with the preparation, maintenance, archiving, and removal of financial aid records in accordance with federal and state retention regulations. Ensures student records are maintained within FERPA guidelines for protection of student privacy. Possibilities for hybrid/remote work available. Minimum Qualifications (Required):
