Corporate Logistics Coord

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate audit, approval, entry into and overall maintenance of inbound and outbound freight invoices generated by Rite-Hite shipping locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Perform daily audit of freight charges on all inbound and outbound freight bills from all Rite-Hite shipping locations. This will include calculating and assigning a pro-rated share of gross charges where applicable.
• Accurate and timely entry of job specific freight charges. Reconcile discrepancies with carriers and/or internal customers as required.
• Obtain pertinent information from various internal and external sources and quote freight rates to customers as volume dictates.
• Trace shipments moving via various modes of transportation.
• Provide proof delivery when required.
• Expedite shipments as needed.
• Maintain integrity of files and filing system - primarily B/L files.
• As volumes warrant, this position will also assist in customer communications and the calculation of freight rate quotations.
• Provide superior administrative and clerical support, including, but not limited to files and phone support
• Administrative and clerical duties to support department effectiveness.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED);
• 3-6 months of related experience and/or training;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Traffic, transportation, or logistics related experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to quickly assess information (such as freight rates) and determine which option is best
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will not have supervisory responsibilities.
