The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Visitor Services Representative at the Concord Audubon. The Audubon's goal is to protect New Hampshire's natural environment for wildlife and for people. Applicants must have federal work study as part of their financial aid offer.

Description of Duties:

  • Under direct supervision of the Education Coordinator
  • Responsible for all aspects of animal husbandry, including but not limited to cleaning enclosures, preparing diet and feeding animals, providing enrichment, observing behavior, monitoring animal health, and participating in animal training for husbandry purposes.
  • Some animal handling will be required.
  • Potential opportunities to assist with educational programming and interpretive material development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a SNHU degree program
  • Work study as part of financial aid package
  • Reliable transportation
  • Some animal husbandry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and/or aquatic tanks preferred.
  • Knowledge of birds of prey preferred.
  • Must have the ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Will provide training to the right candidate.

Work Schedule:

Tues-Fri 11am-5pm. Sat-Mon flexible. This position is designed to be shared between two employees who will work alternate shifts, up to 20 hours per week for each employee.
