How You'll Contribute to the Team:

The Vice President, Military Stakeholder Communications supports the growth and success of the Department of Defense (DoD) business segment by developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans that align with business objectives. The Vice President is a strategic business partner to segment leaders accountable for the success of campaigns designed to raise awareness of the Company's value proposition and to inform and motivate key stakeholders to take action.

While the role is remote, we prefer to hire selected candidates from the following states: AL, FL, GA, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, MI, NC, NE, OK, RI, TN, and TX.

Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Conduct market assessments and manage business development activities to support growth in the DoD business segment.
  • Initiate and facilitate stakeholder engagement with the military. Oversee military stakeholder relations, including oversight for resident relations.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to leaders, working to understand business segment goals and objectives and developing communication strategies, key messaging and media plans that promote corporate and brand initiatives.
  • Develop action-oriented growth marketing plans for assigned business segments aimed at optimizing revenue and increasing market share in current sectors and supporting expansion into new sectors.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop consistent marketing and communications plans that directly support business segment and service line goals.
  • Generate compelling content that accurately convey the unique qualifications, value proposition, and solutions provided by Corvias and direct integrated marketing, design, and digital resources that support stakeholder engagement and action.
  • Ensure messaging across all marketing channels and business verticals adhere to and support the brand, visual identity, and legal guidelines.
  • Provide counsel to senior leaders on communications strategies and secure buy-in on approaches.
  • Analyze and share plan outcomes to find successes and create a culture of learning from projects and mistakes to develop best practices.
  • Create marketing and communication campaign roadmap to ensure projects are on schedule, on budget, and resources are properly aligned.
  • Develop positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Conduct research to understand trends, market conditions, competitor landscape, and other external factors which impact internal strategic direction.
  • Model the highest standards of business professionalism; lead the training and development of team members through coaching, motivating, and mentoring on company culture, business goals, fiscal responsibility, and sound business judgment.
  • Lead the recruitment and retention of a diverse team of professionals; create accountability and ownership among team members through communication of clear expectations, supervision, and timely performance feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Role Specific Requirements Include:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience in Marketing & Communications planning with responsibility for leading integrated marketing and communications plans. A cross section of in-house and agency experience with B2B/B2G clients in Military, Infrastructure, Wellness or Sustainability preferred. Federal government contracting experience is a plus.
  • Military affiliation and/or previous experience working with the Department of Defense in a public-private partnership, public affairs, or comparable equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and public speaking skills, with the confidence to act quickly, communicate effectively, and command respect of both internal and external audiences.
  • Expert level knowledge of the DOD's mission, policy, procedures, and structure.
  • Ability to strategically interface and consult with senior leaders and grasp the substance of business issues to create effective marketing and communication plans that support business objectives.
  • Process- and compliance-oriented and well experienced drafting and executing strategic communications and marketing plans.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate information and ideas with clarity and precision using a variety of channels to deliver engaging content that appeal to multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems drawing on best practices and creative strategies.
  • High degree of integrity, tact and ability to be direct and influence others while remaining diplomatic. Ability to sell ideas persuasively and settle differences in a manner that strengthens relationships.
  • Proven success managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously with demonstrated ability to align resources internally and externally to support plan execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into impactful statements for a variety of audiences and levels of sophistication.
  • Demonstrated history of building strategic relationships aligned on goals and focused on creating value for clients.
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
