Job Summary:

Frankfurt Short Bruza (FSB) is an established multi-disciplined Architecture and Engineering firm and has an opening for a self-motivated Mechanical Designer! This individual will assume a critical role within the company, serving as the plumbing technical lead on a variety of high-profile projects and will support the mechanical engineering team. This opportunity has the ability to be a professional engineer (PE) track position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive design tasks for plumbing systems, including calculations, sizing, equipment selection, and specifications.
  • Utilize Revit for drawing development and layout of plumbing systems.
  • Typical plumbing systems include, but are not limited to, domestic hot and cold water, sanitary sewer and vent, storm sewer, compressed air, and natural gas.
  • Typical project type includes, but is not limited to, airplane hangars, airline maintenance facilities, terminals, central plants, data centers, manufacturing, federal installations, military dept buildings, SCIFs, hotels, office buildings, casinos, and schools.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure that plumbing system design meets relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Produce detailed construction drawings, including floor plans, details, schedules, and riser diagrams, using Revit software.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Develop drafting methods and techniques to optimize production efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Communicate effectively with other disciplines, such as civil, architecture, mechanical, and electrical, to address design needs, modifications, and coordination issues.
  • Proactively engage with the design team to obtain technical assistance and gather necessary information.
  • Ability to be a part of a multi-discipline mechanical unit that designs HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing.
  • Travel to job sites may be required to document existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Required Skills:

  • No experience required; 2-5 years' experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Revit skills preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multi-task proficiently.
