To strengthen our collaborative and supportive culture, managers (with direct reports) are required to work in the office on Wednesday “anchor” days and are strongly encouraged to add a second day. All other employees are strongly encouraged to work in the office two days a week, inclusive of the anchor day. Additionally, twice a year for two consecutive days, all employees report to the office for special staff meetings/functions. Due to the in-office requirement for this manager-level position, only local candidates will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and direct treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, and long-range forecasting for the organization.
  • Direct the accounting department in providing procedures necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Responsible for being the custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.
  • Appraise the organization's financial position and issue periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Direct and coordinate the establishment of budget programs.
  • Manage liability insurance policies for all organizations. Work closely with broker to ensure adequate coverage levels.
  • Coordinate tax reporting programs.
  • Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
  • Oversee and direct the preparation and issuance of the corporation's annual report.
  • Direct and analyze studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
  • Analyze operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determine their financial impact.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with financial institutions and the investment community.
  • Responsible for processing payroll.
  • Serve as primary contact with 3(16) Fiduciary management company to administer the association’s 401(k) plan.
  • In-office presence at a minimum of one day a week to foster employer culture, collaboration, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Some travel is required with this position, which may include weekends.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting along with a minimum of eight years related experience, with increasing levels of experience.
  • Strong leadership skills as evidenced through a minimum of two years' project lead or management experience.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Strong ERP experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and cost accounting.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to calculate and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and ratios to practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at one time; strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel experience.
