JOB SUMMARY:
Performs professional-level work involving accounting work of financial matters for the City and administering a specialized program or area. Independently renders professional judgment, analyzing accounting activity and preparing transactions for entry into the City's general ledger; ensures the accurate processing of related work activities.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Reconciles monthly bank statements; analyzes and makes necessary adjusting entries.

Reviews monthly transactions and Financial Statements for selected Funds.

Prepares quarterly 941 and SUTA filings, and assists in annual W-2 reporting and file submission.

Prepares annual 1099 file for submission.

Reconciles monthly retirement withholding and employer liability with payroll module; prepares monthly payment vouchers and reports for New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS). Provides required employee or employer adjustments to Payroll Fiscal Tech III. Works with NHRS to resolve any file submission issues.

Reconciles monthly NHRS subsidy payment received for retiree health insurance.

Reconciles City's insurance claim account and works with departments to submit appropriate journal entries.

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field; and three years of progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
