Category Management Specialist, Full Time, Bentonville AR

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Position will provide analytical support to the Walmart Sales Team to support day-to-day tasks linked to the category sales function for the Children's Activity category. The Cat Man Specialist will be responsible for development of Walmart POG recommendations, efficiency analytics, general POS reporting tools (BnM, .com, C&C), and ad-hoc analysis as required by the business. The work done will allow for a greater amount of decisions to be made from a fact based perspective to influence, validate, and course correct category tactics linked to product assortment, placement, promotion, and pricing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist the Walmart Sales Team in the development of POG recommendations.
  • Provide consistent and ad-hoc POG and product analyses to measure productivity.
  • Assist the Walmart Sales Team in the day-to-day operations of the category management function at Walmart.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of category presentations and line reviews.
  • Support the Efficient Product Assortment process through development of
    consistent analytic tools.
  • Assist Walmart Sales Team in making merchandising recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of analytical reporting tools and resources to be used by Walmart merchandising and replenishment teams to measure and track category performance across all formats (BnM, .com, C&C).
  • Continually monitor category and marketplace competition to identify opportunities for Walmart across formats of the business.
  • Actively develop tactical recommendations based on analytical insights to achieve category and Crayola business objectives.
  • Participate in the development of the annual account business planning process.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • BA or BS in business studies is required
  • Minimum 2 years of CPG sales, category management, or sales analysis
    experience is required
  • Minimum 1 year working with WalMart in a category advisor or merchant function
  • Ability to develop analytical processes and tracking methods
  • POG schematic management capabilities
  • Ability to understand and maneuver between customer information sources/systems and Crayola systems
  • Ability to manage large volumes of data and analysis simultaneously
  • High analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Demonstrated command of the following software applications: Word, Excel (Advanced), Power Point, Cognos, syndicated data systems (IRI or Neilsen), Retail Link, Luminate preferred, Problem Solving
  • Demonstrated success in building trust with a customer.


PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:



  • Position will be based in the Corporate B&S office or region sales office
  • General office equipment use (PC, copier, fax, phone)
  • Some business travel to company, team, and customer account meetings (10-15%)
