Job Description

Grace is hiring an Instrument & Electrical Engineer Supervisor at our Curtis Bay, MD site. The I&E supervisor will coordinate and support instrumentation and electrical functions of the entire site and report to theMaintenance & Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises unionized hourly work force including coordinating covering shift openings and developing weekly manning schedules
  • Supervise approximately 15 crafts; I/E leader, I/E technicians, I/E planners, and contractors as required.
  • Ensures compliance to regulatory and Grace standards. Conforms to ISO 9002 and GMP (as required) standards. including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Works to ensure a safe working environment for employees and environmental compliance for area of responsibility Takes individual responsibility for a continually improving the safety performance of the department by conducting safety inspections, holding regularly scheduled safety meetings and ensuring 100% attendance rate, ensures training compliance, works with EHS Department to identify and correct any hazards.
  • Drives EHS initiatives within areas of responsibility.
  • Reviews performance of employees, and works continuously to improve performance and productivity. Holds employees accountable for working safely, productively, and quality work.
  • Works closely with area Maintenance coordinators, Operations planners, and maintenance planning group to plan and schedule maintenance work.
  • Responsible for area reporting requirements including SAP PM information, labor reporting, and document preparation, etc.
  • Evaluates SAP PM requirements and helps to develop equipment maintenance plans as required.
  • Understand, interpret and administer union contract agreement. Holds first step grievance meetings
  • Maintain and administer overtime procedure.
  • Provide training for crafts and apprentices as needed to maintain skills and develop skills.
  • Strives to improve equipment uptime, quality and speed rates.
  • Strives to reduce maintenance cost, and ensures the timely reporting of expenditures
  • Supports maintenance excellence initiatives as required.
  • Supports capital projects as needed.
  • Coordinated work activity with site stores functions
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment maintaining electrical and instruments systems
  • Journeyman's License required
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to lead change initiatives and implement improvements
  • Ability to resolve personnel, safety, contractual and technical issues both independently and with appropriate resources efficiently and effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (WORD and EXCEL).
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain coordinate shop activity across multiple business units
  • Ability to perform basic root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience in maintenance
  • SAP user experience in Plant Maintenance systems
