What you will be doing

Under general direction of the Vice President - Assistant Corporate Controller has responsibility for managing the Accounting Systems team and enforcing sound accounting policies and practices of General Ledger Accounting, Consolidation, Internal Management Financial Reporting, and Accounting Systems. This individual will have one direct report and a staff of two associates.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the financial consolidation of all Cencora, Inc entities (U.S. and international operations), including elimination of all inter-company activity and balances. Consolidation includes non-wholly owned subsidiaries, which Cencora controls. The consolidation of international operations includes managing through complex foreign exchange and IFRS to GAAP accounting.
  • Responsible for establishing processes to analyze consolidated Interest Expense, net and consolidated Other Expense (Income) to ensure that all intercompany activity is eliminated.
  • Responsible for establishing processes to analyze and reconcile consolidated Notes Receivable and consolidated Notes Payable to ensure that all intercompany activity is eliminated and that all consolidated equity accounts roll forward on a monthly basis.
  • Review consolidated balance sheet and income statement and perform variance analytics, including the overall analytic review provided to the external auditors.
  • Manage the maintenance of SAP (new cost center and account numbers).
  • Responsible for account mapping and financial results integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Responsible for managing the Accounting Systems team, which maintains the entity roll ups (GAAP and Non-GAAP) in Hyperion.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of internal management financial reporting packages and other financial data on a monthly and quarterly basis. Complete the Earnings Tables for external quarterly reporting.
  • Ensures that the internal controls and processes related to consolidation and reporting are in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Coordinates extensively with external auditors; has significant exposure and responsibility to the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Works with the Tax Department and Director - International Accounting to ensure all tax journal entries are properly reflected, including working through complex legal entity tax restructurings.
  • Manages and develops the Accounting Systems team.
  • Works with Information Technology and Financial Planning to maintain the general ledger structure including the creation of new accounts and entity rollups in both SAP and EPM.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred. Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding of COR policies, philosophy, goals and objectives to affect financial oversight in protecting the company's assets.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and mining tools including PC-based tools such as Microsoft Access, Excel, SAP, and Oracle Reporting Tools
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to manage a team in the accomplishment of common goals
  • Ability to develop and provide efficiencies of new and established processes
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative

This role is a hybrid role requiring onsite visits to the Conshohocken, PA office two times a week. Preferably, Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week.
