As a Test Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers, and technicians responsible for enabling and sustaining factory test lines that support all Apple hardware products pre and post New Product Introduction (NPI). These factory test lines are an important asset to Apple, as these enable product quality continuous improvement (activities such as EFFA and QIF) and facilitate the development of field diagnostics and repair processes. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-functional engineering partners to develop test plans and schedules, and ultimately lead the team to complete those agreements and deliver factory testing capability and capacity when needed by our partners. Key Qualifications
Description Responsibilities include providing test engineering leadership during all test station planning and execution to enable test line bring-up and continuity. Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Product Quality and AppleCare multi-functional partners and leadership to gain agreement on test coverage and support requirements for EFFA and sustaining during each NPI cycle. Understand test station functionality as it relates to the product features and responsible for BOM review discussions and finalization of equipment requirements. Assign test engineers and technicians during planning phase to complete deliverables for each product test line. These include line layout, test equipment requirements, budget, schedule, system updates, and engineering resources (DRI and temporary) forecasts. Facilitate and be the gatekeeper for equipment purchasing by collaborating with test engineers and PM's. Collaborate with PM's to present budget to the Finance/PQM partners and AppleCare leadership. Provide engineering leadership during execution of test line plans, installation, qualification and solving of issues blocking test line readiness for all product lines. Maintain communication with multi-functional partners during product lifecycle to revisit test line support requirements. Manage team engineering resources as needed to support ongoing test line operations. Provide mentorship to Test Engineering team members. Education & Experience BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent experience. Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits
