Job Description:

The Account Executive (AE) works alongside the producer and provides
support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts.
The AE is responsible for assisting producer in rounding out the
clients account.

The AE possesses more technical and coverage knowledge than that of a
Service Agent. The AE can handle medium to large accounts with
minimal to no assistance with a minimum BoB equal to $750,000 or
greater. The AE meets the agency service standards of time and quality.

Primary Duties



  • Identifys, designs, and implements placement strategies for the
    client, encompassing new products and services, identification and
    selection of target markets, and tailored/unique coverages.
  • Provides technical support to producers (coverage, proposal,
    suspense items, etc.) to help clients and reach agency business goals.
  • Seeks referrals from clients and follow through to get new accounts.
  • Prepares accurate proposals and coordinates the layout of the
    proposal and presentation according to agency standards.
  • Follows up and negotiates quotes with appropriate carriers.
  • Rates new policies and completes applications and other required documentation.
  • As need may prepare summaries of insurance schedules and proposals
    for account review.
  • Remarkets, contacts clients and follows up in conjunction with
    account manager and/or producers; renew policies according to agency standards.
  • Documents all marketing activity in the agency management system
    by maintaining an up to date marketing summary.
  • Maintains knowledge of developments or changes with carriers and
    new federal/state laws that affect how clients conduct business;
    consults, informs and educates clients about coverage, exclusions
    and exposures; documents electronic filing accordingly.
  • Represents the agency in coordination with producers in handling
    complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances;
    facilitates a productive and amicable working relationship between
    clients and producers; develops and maintains a positive
    relationship and rapport with each insurance carrier to satisfy our
    clients' needs and facilitate the processing of business.
  • Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely
    and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Ensures that systems, procedures, and insurance company
    regulations are adhered to by the department and alert management
    should any problems arise.
  • Assists in the training and development of members of the team.
  • Pursues professional studies and maintains a familiarity with
    trends in the industry and with new insurance products Meet with
    producers and account manager on a regular basis to review and
    address accounts
  • Must be able to work during regular working hours as established
    by the agency
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Experience and Skills:
Education and Experience

4-6 of experience as a Senior Account Manager or Underwriter

P&C License is required



  • Willingness to pursue continuing education; INS, CISR, ACSR, etc.
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills necessary
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, express enthusiasm and be flexible
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Appropriately attired for professional office environment
  • Maintains a professional, helpful and courteous demeanor with
    clients, carrier personnel, and agency personnel.
