Accountant/Payment Analyst 3

The Level 3 Accountant performs basic to intermediate accounting functions for Spirit Aero Systems' Corporate Accounting Department. Spirit accounting team is looking to add a high performing candidate in response to increased business activity.

Key Responsibilities

* Collect and analyze accounting data for accurate entries and internal/external reporting

* Disbursement transactions with suppliers in accounts payable

* Use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and controls that will prevent or reduce risk of potential misstatements

* Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), internal controls, and company and departmental procedures

* Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger

* Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts

* Assist with internal and external audit requests

* Prepare supporting schedules for assigned areas for monthly financial review

* Manage assigned projects to deadlines

* Work under deadlines and assist with resolving accounting challenges

* Collaborate and grow in a team environment and be willing to learn and be coached by experienced accountants

* Learn and apply knowledge and training in SAP and Hyperion Financial Management

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; or 5 years or more related business area of experience

* Understanding of GAAP and accounting principles

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

* Proficiency in Excel required
