  • Job Responsibilities:
    1. Provide leadership over the District's Nutrition Services, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the department's goals and operational plans.
    2. Oversee the daily operation of the Nutrition Services program throughout the District, including planning menus and regularly visiting each building's kitchen to ensure compliance with sanitization, safety, and USDA standards.
    3. Implement state and federal regulations and School Board policies related to Nutrition Services.
    4. Oversee the department budget and approve the requisitions for supplies, equipment and materials necessary for the operation of the department.
    5. Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to the District's Strategic Plan
    6. Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, staff development, and evaluation of staff members.
    7. Serve as a District representative in all matters pertaining to the Nutrition Services union, including negotiations and labor relations.
    8. Serve as a member of the District's administrative team and actively participate in the development, implementation, and achievement of the District's strategic plans.
    9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

    Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in hospitality management, food service management, dietetics or home economics, or equivalent preparation related to the responsibilities of the position.
    2. Experience in management of school food service program.
    3. Preferred: Registered Dietitian
    4. SNA Level 4 Certification
    5. Preferred: SNA School Nutrition Specialist Credential
    6. MN State Department of Health Food Manager Certificate
    7. Evidence of strong initiative and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
    8. Demonstrated ability to manage the business operations of food service program.
    9. Evidence of excellent organizational and human relations skills.
    10. Evidence of effective communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

    This position will be placed on an individual contract.
