JOB SUMMARY

The Payroll Manager overseas and ensures the accurate process of all aspects of the company's payroll function. The position ensures that Payroll is delivered accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and applicable government regulations. The Payroll Manager will ensure the timely filing of payroll-related taxes and amendments, conduct internal audits and reconciliations regularly, and ensure accurate labor related reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform full-cycle processing, data entry, validation, reconciliation, and auditing for biweekly payrolls using Workday/ADP systems.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing of 1,000 + total employee, 500 hourly employees, operating in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, laws and best practices for both employee and employer liabilities. Provides guidance to leadership on all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain all payroll reporting, both electronic and paper, by adhering to Local, State, and Federal codes and requirements.
  • Provide company employees and managers with great customer service for all payroll related questions and requests.
  • Manage the Payroll team; provide guidance, growth opportunities and development plans to employees within the payroll team.
  • Perform Payroll Audit for accuracy, including reconciliation of GL ledger to payroll registers.
  • Maintain accurate payroll information by identifying and improving the effectiveness of payroll operations and internal controls.
  • Performs special assignments and analysis as requested.
  • Acquire knowledge of all HR related processes and the impact to Payroll duties, provide support to HR team when possible.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • Strong Workday (payroll processing system) experience preferred
  • Experience with ADP (income taxes system) preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach and motivate
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and execute tasks on time and accurately
  • Acute sense of urgency and ability to work independently
  • Adaptable to changing environment, while acting as a champion for change
  • Strong relationship building skills, able to build credibility with leaders and peers
  • Strong ethics, integrity and confidentiality skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources preferred, or equivalent work experience required

CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification by the American Payroll Association required

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum 8 years of related work experience, working in a payroll department or in a similar role

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Percent of Travel Required: Less than 5%; Travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training.
