The Department of History at Smith College invites applications for a 1-year, benefits eligible position at the rank of Lecturer to begin July 1, 2024 with a specialization in the history of science and medicine. The temporal and regional specialization is flexible, excluding the history of the United States. Teaching responsibilities for this position will regularly include a first-year seminar and four additional courses developed in consultation with the department. By the time of appointment, the applicant should have a Ph.D. in History, however, ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
