Interpreter-III Languages, Per Diem

We are searching for a Per Diem Interpreter- 3 Languages to provide coverage on-site/on-call for Interpreter Services as requested. Provide accurate consecutive and/or simultaneous verbal interpretation and/or translations of written material. Develop a rhythm of interpretation to enhance the flow of communication between parties. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of encounters.

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Travel: May require driving an average of 3 or more times per week

Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Days with evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed



Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in a related field is required.
• Training in medical terminology preferred.
• Interpersonal skills appropriate for handling sensitive patient and/or employee issues.
• Fluency in four (4) languages required, including English and three (3) assigned languages.
• One (1) year related experience required.
• Certificate of completion of Medical Interpreter Training.

Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 and provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
