Position Summary:
The Department of
Humanities and Social Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology
invites applications for a University Lecturer (non-tenure track position) specializing
in psychology and/or social psychology. The successful candidate will contribute
to to the department's commitment to delivering dynamic and innovative
introductory undergraduate courses in psychology with the potential opportunity
to also teach in their area of specialization. An interest and ability to
contribute to one of the department's degree programs in Cyberpsychology and
Communication and Media would be beneficial.

Essential Functions:
The position requires
prior experience teaching psychology and/or social psychology at the university
level and demonstrated success through course evaluations, peer assessment, or
other means. Candidates should have appreciation for the distinct instructional
requirements of a public polytechnic university that encompasses the full range
of engineering disciplines, as well as computer and data science, applied science,
business management, and architecture and design.

-Duties
will include delivering four courses, face to face, in psychology and/or
social psychology per semester and advising students.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
The Department of
Humanities and Social Sciences is an interdisciplinary community of

mission of continuous educational innovation. Candidates must abide by the

- Master's degree
in psychology or social psychology. PhD preferred.
- At the university's
discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where
the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an
equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the
candidate for success in the position.

selection will include the capacity to teach social and/or social to diverse
student populations and to contribute to the instructional activities of a
large and robust department that is part of a polytechnic university.
