Job Description

Grace is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our Facility Services Team! This role reports to the Senior Supervisor, Facility Services located at Columbia, Md. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

In this role, you will work with and support a diverse and highly effective team that lives our Company's values. Overseeing, supervising, and participating in the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment on the Corporate campus. Role is also responsible for training and maintaining files, work orders and records, while also providing technical assistance in troubleshooting needs.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned preventative maintenance and work orders requests assigned via CMMS.
  • Communicate with office, lab and leadership associates when scheduling work.
  • Schedule and manage onsite contractors. This Includes enforcing Grace's safety policies, Critical Life Safety (CLS) and non CLS permit guidelines.
  • Relocate and/or dispose of various equipment and materials on campus.
  • Maintain or obtain required certifications (forklift and other).
  • Maintain maintenance supplies inventory and place orders.
  • Manage fleet vehicle maintenance program.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, preventative maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a R&D plant facility with highly hazardous materials.
  • Specific "on the job" training will be provided.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial construction and maintenance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or Trade School.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of carpentry and painting.
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
  • Prior experience preferred in general facility maintenance.
  • Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
