Job Summary This position is responsible for the reviewing, processing and accounting for payments arising from the settlement of power purchases and sales, as well as ancillary services and ISO fees. These settlements are principally comprised of (a) ISO settlements (i.e., ERCOT and other ISO's), (b) bilateral power settlements, (c) structured power contract settlements and (d) the settlement of certain other commodities, including environmental credits. Job Description Key Accountabilities * Review, process and record in the accounting ledger: - Load and resource imbalance settlements with ERCOT and other ISO's, - Ancillary service settlements with ERCOT and other ISO's - Power bought and sold under "standard" products (bilateral settlements) - Power bought and sold under complex, structured agreements - Emissions and renewable energy credits * Develop and maintain an understanding of the protocols governing the derivation of settlements with ERCOT and other ISO's. * Accurately estimate ISO settlements for which QSE has not yet received a settlement statement. * Review settlement statements from ERCOT and other ISO's for deviations from expected results and file timely disputes with the ISO. * Work closely with regulatory groups in the analysis of changes in ERCOT and other ISO protocols. * Work with the external auditors on resolving complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues. * Train team members on ERCOT and other ISO settlement issues. * Oversees the monthly risk to accounting analysis. * Leads settlements user acceptance testing for systems implementations. * Supports the Controller's organization in achieving high individual and team performance standards Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements * Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance. * Minimum of 7-9 years of progressive accounting or reporting in the energy industry. * Exhibits and articulates a clear and significant understanding of ERCOT and other ISO electricity markets * Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP. * Strong leadership, business, financial, problem solving and communication skills. * Experience in structured, complex transactions * Knowledge of business process design and controls Job Family Accounting Company Vistra Corporate Services Company Locations Irving, Texas Texas We are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
