Job Description

As the Vice President of Token Services on Visa's Global Product team, you will step into a pivotal role driving a foundational Visa platform and set of critical client-facing services, where innovation and technological advancement are at the forefront of our mission. In this position, you will lead and shape the future of digital payments, ensuring continued security and seamless customer experience across all use cases and credential types. The services you and your team will be managing touches nearly every Visa cardholder and every Visa client, and supports many other core services across Visa internally.

The business lines this role covers: Card Tokenization, Payment Account Tokenization, and Click to Pay (Secure Remote Commerce - guest check-out experiences). Card Tokenization, encompassing Visa Token Services and Token ID, including token provisioning capabilities, authentication and liability shift frameworks, core payment functionality, and token lifecycle management services. Backend platform enhancements and long-term modernization strategy is also part of the team scope. Payment Account Tokenization vertical involves building and scaling an early-stage service and working with rail operators and participating banks globally. Click to Pay is a top strategic initiative across the company and in each region. Scope for this area includes obsessive focus on check-out related user experience and iterating on guest check-out strategy for Visa.

Drawing on your extensive experience in the digital payments domain and with scaling products, you will oversee a team of over 80 geographically dispersed team members covering product management, commercialization and operations, along with working closely with Technology leadership managing a significant engineering team fully dedicated to Token Services. This role reports to the SVP of Consumer Payments in Global Product, and you will play a critical role in driving product strategy, revenue management, and go-to-market support for our Token Services portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of over 80 individuals, fostering a culture of collaboration, product excellence, customer-orientation, and innovative thinking.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-horizon product strategy aligned with the company's overall vision and objectives.

  • Oversee revenue management for the business units, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability for the Token Services portfolio.

  • Drive product management activities across three distinct verticals, including product lifecycle management, feature prioritization, and roadmap development. Provide guidance for initiatives trade-offs and manage incremental resourcing needs.

  • Manage two horizontal support teams - Commercialization and Operations. Commercialization is responsible for market segmentation, global partner pipeline management, cohesive cross-product messaging and templatized sales enablement content, pricing and contracts. This team works closely with Regional Product, Account Executives and Digital Partnerships, supporting bringing our token services to clients. The Operations team supports complex client projects, market launches, and provide ongoing support for Global partners such as Apple and Google. Operations team also works closely with Regional Product and Client Services to continuously improve token performance and provide playbooks and guidance for new feature implementations.

  • Spearhead new ideation efforts, leveraging market insights, customer feedback, and emerging technologies to drive product innovation.

  • Collaborate closely with Regional Product and Digital Partnerships teams to ensure aligned goals, product priorities, and maximize market impact for token performance.

  • Work closely with Technology leadership for aligned goals, clear and transparent roadmap, smooth and efficient product delivery, and problem-solving collaboratively on topics such as workforce planning, resource gaps, environment downtimes, increasing velocity and minimizing change requests.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners such as Design, Product Marketing, Legal and Risk to deliver cohesive product messaging and best-in-class customer experiences.

  • Drive continuous improvement in product performance through rigorous analysis, monitoring, experimentation, and iterative enhancements.

  • Represent Visa in industry forums, conferences, and partnerships, establishing the company as a thought leader in tokenization and digital payments. Drive Visa agendas forward in Standards committees and industry governing bodies.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

* Basic Qualifications

* 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

* Preferred Qualifications

* 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)

* Bachelor's degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred;

* Proven track record of success in product leadership roles, with at least 15 years of relevant experience. Ideally at least 5 years in the payments industry.

* Deep understanding of tokenization technology and its application in digital payments. Experience with e-commerce and online payments acceptance.

* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data and insights into actionable product strategies.

* Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience leading large, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

* Demonstrated ability to drive results and deliver on ambitious growth targets, with a focus on scaling products and platforms sustainably.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

* Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and a willingness to challenge the status quo. Ability to push on others' assumptions and reverse the course of action if needed.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 229,100.00 to 357,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
