Job Description:

The Senior Business Development Specialist (SBDS), will play a
crucial role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth
by identifying, nurturing, and closing new business opportunities
within the employee benefits sector. The SBDS will be responsible for
developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas
using business development and sales operations methods. The SBDS will
use communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with
potential customers, from first contact until the close of the deal.
This role will ensure proper after-sales and revenue operations
support for all new business activity.

Primary Duties
*Prospect and Lead Generation: Identify and target potential
customers through market research, networking, cold calls, emails,
events, and referrals. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of
qualified leads. Maintain prospecting database. Report to EVP
Revenue on pipeline and forecasts. Increase MQL activity by
collaborating with Marketing.
*Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with
potential clients. Understand their business objectives and
challenges to effectively qualify targets based on agency growth objectives.
*Consultative Sales: Work with producers to conduct in-depth
consultations with prospects to assess their employee benefits
needs. Tailor insurance package proposals that align with their
budget and objectives.
*Proposal Development: Partner with Marketing to create and best
position RFP responses, proposals and finalist presentations.
Prepare comprehensive deliverables, including cost analysis, plan
design, quotes and benefits options to potential clients based on
needs of the opportunity. Effectively communicate the value
proposition of our services.
*Quotas: Meet or exceed activity driven quota targets supporting
pipeline development. Support Producer in closing deals in a timely
and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
*Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor
offerings, and regulatory changes in the employee benefits
landscape. Use this knowledge to inform and enhance our services and
sales strategies.
*Collaboration: Work closely with our internal teams, including
account managers, customer service representatives, and finance
team, to ensure a seamless transition from prospecting to servicing clients.
*Revenue Operations: Maintain revenue operations database.
Maximize vendor partnerships and oversee contract management.
Experience and Skills:
Years of Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
(preferred); or combined equivalent years of education and experience.
License, Certification, or Registration:
*L&H License is required.
*Proven track record of success in B2B sales, particularly in the
insurance or employee benefitsindustry & achieving sales quotas.
*Strong understanding of employee benefits products, including
health insurance, retirementplans, and voluntary benefits.
*Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
*Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a passion for exceeding targets.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Proficient in CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
*Ability to deliver engaging presentations.
*Understanding of sales performance metrics.
